Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies




1/2 cup shortening 1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour 1 3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup cocoa
1/4 cup milk
18 large marshmallows, cut in half
1 jar hot fudge sauce

Preheat oven to 375F.

Cream shortening and sugar.  Add egg and vanilla; mix well.  In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, baking soda, and cocoa.  Add to shortening mixture, alternating with milk.  Drop batter by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet.  Bake 8 minutes.

Place marshmallows cut side down onto each warm cookie.  Bake 2 minutes more.  Cool.  Drizzle with warmed hot fudge.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.
